Received our second fertilization report this morning and a confirmed plan to do a 5 day transfer on Sunday afternoon.
We were told that of the 7 embryos that fertilized, 6 of those are at the 8-cell stage, and 1 is at the 5-cell stage. This is really good! They are all Grade 2 minimal fragmentation. They explained that between now and then, about 50% are expected to drop out, so our overall hope is that we're left with 4 good quality babies. The suspense is killing me.
So Sunday it is! We'll go in at 12:30 and do the transfer at 1 p.m. I will be given Valium, the Dr. will discuss which embryos we want to transfer vs. freeze, show us pictures and then proceed with the transfer via catheter and ultrasound. I am so excited to see what they look like. The appointment shouldn't take too long, and then its back home to start bedrest with a good ol' Super Bowl.
